How do I backup my data?
You can backup your Todo data using one of the following processes:
Use iTunes to backup / restore application data
Here is an Apple Support article that walks through the steps you can take to backup / restore Appigo Todo, Notebook, AccuFuel or any of your other application settings, preferences, and data.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Pros:
- Application settings, preferences and data are backed up
- iTunes can be configured to automatically backup your device
Cons:
- All device data must be restored and you can not do a selective restore for a specific application's data.
NOTE: Restoring the device's complete data backup can be a very time consuming procedure - iTunes only keeps one backup created during the sync process for each device. If you accidentally delete an application or it's data and then do an iTunes sync, a new version of the backup will be created and the newly created backup will reflect the new state of the device (ie no Todo or Todo data)
Synchronizing to backup / restore Todo data
After a successful sync to one of these services, you will be able to access and restore that data to your device. More information on how to sync to these devices is found here:
Connecting to Appigo Sync
Connecting to Remember the Milk
Connecting to Toodledo
Note: Some sync services may not fully support projects and checklists. Appigo Sync and a Toodledo Pro Account are the two supported sync services that preserve the subtask relationships. Please keep this in mind when backing up your data. Please see the following FAQ for additional information about Projects and subtasks.
Pros:
- Only Todo data is synced and backed up
- Todo on new devices can be configured with the sync service and the Todo data will be synchronized to the new device
Cons:
- If you experience synchronization issues, your data may not be backed up
- Project and checklists are not support by all sync services, so syncing to those services will result in some data loss
- Todo application settings and preferences are not synchronized or backed up
